PLAYOFF BOUND! Eagles Beat Raiders, Norcross Next Up

Milton won its third game in a row with a convincing 38-15 knockout at North Forsyth in a battle for the final playoff spot in Region 5. Solomon Vanhorse had another big game and led the Eagles rushing attack with 177 yards on the ground, including touchdown runs of 44 and 38 yards. Jordan Yates threw for two touchdowns, with a 27-yarder to Holden Shaw and a 71-yarder to Dash Hairston. The Eagles special teams were solid again as Nick Augello kicked a 39-yard field goal and William Kersey added an exclamation point with a 65-yard kickoff return to close out the scoring.

The Milton defense turned in another strong performance, containing the high-scoring Raiders offense. Joe Charleston and Troy Simon each snagged second half interceptions to stop the Raiders comeback.

The Eagles finished the regular season 5-5 overall and 3-2 in their region and return to the playoffs for the first time since their quarterfinal run in 2014. They travel to Norcross this Friday to take on the undefeated Blue Devils in a first-round matchup. It’s PLAYOFF TIME Eagle Nation! Let’s load up every vehicle with Eagle fans and pack the house as the Eagles start their march to the Dome!
